Ondo NUJ Mourns Iconic Broadcaster, Adenike Thompson

Members and leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council receive news of the untimely death of an Ace and Quintessential Broadcaster and Senior member of the Pen Profession, ADENIKE THOMPSON with rude shock, deepest sorrow and immense sadness.

Thompson, a Director, News and Current Affairs at the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) before her redeployment to the State Ministry of Information, died on Saturday afternoon at a private hospital during a brief illness.

Our Union and indeed the general public in Ondo state will not forget in a hurry her pleasant, professional and captivating style of casting news on OSRC TV and Radio stations.

Aunty Nike, as fondly called by her junior and senior colleagues, was a patriot, cerebral journalist whose life of service to humanity and courageous will continue to be widely acknowledged especially among media professionals.

Ondo NUJ is enthralled and regaled with the many years of unequalled, unparalleled and sacrifices of ADENIKE THOMPSON to the training of young broadcast journalists to a stardom as well as working for the progress and growth of our Union and NAWOJ at OSRC chapel and at the state Council levels.

We pray Lord grant her family, OSRC chapel and journalism fraternity the fortitude to bear the irreparable and shocking loss of our dear Aunty Nike.

Her burial arrangements will be announced after a meeting with her family.
