ONDO GUBER POLL: Tinubu, Oshiomole Rule Out Second Term Ticket For Akeredolu

The plans to hinder the second term ambition of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu under the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the next gubernatorial election in Ondo State by some leaders of the party has been uncovered.

It was gathered that some leaders of the party loyal to Senator Ajayi Boroffice and the National Leader of the Party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have allegedly begun separate moves in their individual’s camp to stop the governor from contesting or in the alternative scheme him out in the ruling APC’s primary ahead of next year election in Ondo State.

During a brief discussion held with our correspondent in Lagos on Saturday night, one of the APC leaders who pleaded anonymity, told Newsflash247 that the National Leader of the party and the National chairman of APC, comrade Adams Oshiomhole have ruled out any support for governor Akeredolu’s second term ambition despite the latter’s reconciliation meeting with Tinubu recently through the help of a chieftain of the party, Mr Pius Akinyelure.

According to him, he said: “Akeredolu has been forgiven. My leader and my friend is not God. Akeredolu has begged him and he has also forgiven him as a man who is God-fearing. Brother, let me tell you the gospel truth, Tinubu has only fulfilled divine instruction to forgive as human being. It doesn’t mean he is, or will support the governor for his second term race.

“Tinubu cannot repose confidence in Akeredolu anymore. It is too late. He can’t trust him for a seconds. I am telling you authoritatively that Oshiomhole and Tinubu have ruled out any second term ticket for him,” the source said.

But sir, what is the essence of the forgiveness when Tinubu already made up his mind not to support him? our correspondent cut in. He said: “you are mincing two different things together my brother. Forgiveness and support are two different words. If you offend someone and he forgave you after you came to say sorry, it doesn’t mean the person has given his support to a project you wish to embark upon soon. Do you get it now?” He explained.

It was also uncovered that some groups loyal to Senator Boroffice has started regrouping to allegedly pay back Governor Akeredolu in his own coin over his alleged hostility and maltreatment of their principal (Boroffice) in the Party in Ondo-State.

The source who pleaded not to be named said former deputy governor of Ondo State, Mr Ali Olanusi, is the chief host of the routine meetings of the groups loyal to Boroffice’s faction in preparation to produce a gubernatorial candidate for the ruling APC in Ondo State against the move by the governor to return for second term in office.
