SCHOOL FEE REDUCTION: Final Resolution With The State Government Holds Next Week - AAUASU President

Following the meeting held today between the Students Union of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko and the Ondo state government, it is confirmed that another has been fixed for the conclusion of the meeting.

It will be recall that students of the institution staged a peace protest in Akure last week, demanding for reduction in their tuition.

According to the Students Union President of the institution, Adesomoju Samuel,  through a communique sent online by the Public Relations Officer of the institution, David Babalola, the date for the meeting is announced to be Thursday, 6th of June,  2019.

An extract of the release sent online reads (unedited):

We presented our few minutes argument and facts before the Deputy Gov. He (deputy Gov) did say Mr. Governor was briefed about our meeting to hold today and he did appreciate that he will love to have the full house in the next meeting including the Vc's and Governing council of both institutions.

It continues, Aluta minds The Said meeting ended in about an hour later becos we started 3: 37pm and left the Government house some minutes to 5PM with solid agreement that the comprehensive meeting will hold to make final resolutions next week, Thursday, 6th June, 2019.

However, students of the institution have reacted to the meeting. While some commend the doggedness of the Union,  some were of the opinion that shifting the meeting is an avenue to elongate the present infinite break the school embarked on,  and others await the result of the next meeting; hoping it favour students.
